There are multiple ways to reset a HikVision DVR password: Recovery email, HiConnect App, security questions, or via GUID file.
Recovery email
The most recommended method is to reset it through email, as this doesn't require internet access to the device. To start the reset process, go to the “Forget Password” and select email verification. From there, you'll receive a verification code. Follow the prompts to create and confirm a new password.
HiConnect App
Navigate to "Reset Device Password" under the "Me" tab to scan a QR Code on your DVR screen. This will send a verification code to your preferred email address, where you can set a new password through the app.
Security Questions
Go to the "Forgot Password" page on the DVR login screen and select the security questions option. Once you have answered these previously set answers, you will be prompted to reset your password.
GUID File
This method will also work for users without internet connectivity. To do so, click "Forgot Password" on the DVR login screen and select "Export GUID File." Send this GUID file to HikVision support, and they will return an encrypted file or key you can upload to the DVR to reset your password.
The process is fairly straightforward: download the app from the app store and register for a new account by entering your email address and mobile phone number. Once you have entered the verification code, you will be ready to load your Hikvision device into the app.
To connect a HikVision intercom, install the device and ensure it is powered. Use ethernet cables to connect the door station to a PoE switch and the indoor monitor to the same switch. Activate the devices by entering a password when prompted. Next, enable DHCP for automatic IP assignment. Use the Hik-Connect app to scan the QR code displayed on the intercom for remote access setup. Finally, configure network settings and add the intercom to your mobile device for two-way communication and monitoring capabilities.
